Chain-on-Edge Conveyors

The SSI Chain-on-Edge Floor Conveyor is designed to either run in a straight line or negotiate horizontal turns to conform to building layout or process requirements.

Chain-on-Edge Pusher Dogs

SSI Pusher Dogs are the toughest, longest wearing, most dependable Dogs in the entire industry. Forged from the highest quality alloy steel, they are also heat treated for maximum strength and wear. SSI Pusher Dogs are as strong as the chain to which they are attached.

Chain-on-Edge Accumulating Pushers

SSI's accumulating pusher for chain-an-edge is a "proven design". This unique assembly attaches to standard single extended chain pins, and negotiates standard roller turns, sprocket turns, and vertical curves. The design of the unit was developed in conjunction with a major automotive manufacturer to provide body truck accumulation.

The specially designed contoured surfaces allow sufficient "force" to move a body truck in normal operation, yet depresses easily for accumulation. All pushing contact surfaces are heat treated for long life.

Chain-on-Edge Guide Blocks

Guide blocks are often used on Chain-on-Edge Conveyors to center the body truck over the caster track. This unit is especially suitable for flush-with-the-floor conveyors, providing access for personnel and vehicles across the conveyor line.

Guide Block Assembly for 458 Chain: Approx 4.0 lbs
Guide Block Assembly for 678 Chain: Approx 6.5 lbs

*Drop (“M” dimension) may be changed to suit customer’s requirements.

Chain-on-Edge Filler Bars

Filler bars are utilized on Chain-on-Edge assemblies to prevent entrance of foreign debris into the conveyor chain, preventing jam conditions in the conveyor.

Chain-on-Edge Sprocket Turns

SSI manufactures standard sprocket turns to meet all size and conditions encountered with Chain-on-Edge Conveyors.

All SSI Chain-on-Edge Sprocket Turns are available with either roller bearings or bronze bushings.

Chain-on-Edge Inclines & Declines

SSI's Chain-on-Edge Vertical Curves are designed to suit manufacturing requirements as well as to conform to the building's limitations for floor to floor transfer of unit loads. Walkways and Safety Guards are included on most installations

Chain-on-Edge Air-Operated Take-Ups

Almost all Conveyor Systems require Take-Ups to assure the removal of chain slack and maintain correct chain tension.

SSI's Take-Ups are economical, but manufactured to exacting specifications. These Take-Ups allow for full jobspace travel before having to make readjustments or remove chain sections.

SSI's high safety standards are built into each Take-Up. The limit switch, for example is located so that it will shut down the conveyor in case of chain breakage. It will also stop the conveyor in case the chain reaches the limit of its travel, or air pressure fails.

All SSI Take-Ups are made of high alloy steels. Welding is done in jigs that assure constant alignment and dimensional accuracy. Careful attention to assembly details, by SSI personnel, pays you big dividends in performance, longer wearing qualities, and more over-all value.

SSI Air-Operated Take-Ups can be manufactured to meet any special space requirements, if necessary.
