Southern Systems, Inc.

Since 1968, Southern Systems, Inc. has been engineering, manufacturing, and installing heavy duty, custom conveyor systems, electrical controls, and automation equipment for all industries from automobile assembly (28 plants) to package handling, distribution centers, agricultural and farm implement equipment, military, and food processing with worldwide installations that spread from Seattle to Singapore and Montreal to Mexico.

SSI produces virtually all types of conveyors, specializing in heavy-duty conveyors. Product handling capabilities vary from overnight express letters to large construction and military vehicles weighing up to 110,000 lbs.

SSI invented the Cam-Dog® single-piece power and free trolley for both overhead power & free conveyors and inverted power & free conveyors.

As an innovator and leader in the conveyor industry, SSI raised the industry standard for quality by achieving ISO 9001 Registration in June 1998. Underwriters Laboratories, Inc., an internationally recognized quality system registrar, certified SSI’s Quality System for the design, manufacture and installation of conveyor systems to the requirements of ISO 9001.

ISO 9001:2008 Registration assures customers that SSI’s Quality System meets internationally recognized standards of quality.

SSI's corporate headquarters are located in Memphis, Tennessee with a branch plant located in Ft. Smith, Arkansas.
